On January 1, 2015, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada introduced the express entry system. This selection method is meant to speed up the processing and wait times for applying for permanent residency.
Instead having the federal government verify educational credentials, the intended immigrants have their credentials verified by with federally approved third party.
